Being that you are training as a health care proffessional Ben maybe it would be easier to ask yourself if you would like to see other health care workers have to deal with Person X if they had this training and were not able to control their actions ? This may or may not be to simplistic !

Too many people in this world are concerned with doing things their way, with little or no acceptance and thought of how others do things. In the contemporary martial arts world there appears this attitude of superiority. Practicioners of one art will say that theirs is superior to anothers, or all the others. This is like saying that kale(a food) is superior to beets(another food). This is not so. For health, one must eat different kinds of food. However, if one prepares the food incorrectly, it becomes toxic and unhealthy. It is the same with the martial arts. To be a healthy martial artist, one must be exposed to and study different arts. However, the training must be done correctly, with good timing and distancing, and the proper attitude, or the art becomes something toxic, which will get you killed.

ALL MARTIAL ARTS(notice I said martial arts, not martial sports or martial games) have truth in them. Some more than others. The artist themself must distinguish between true and false, right and wrong, good and evil.

In other words, don't force a technique. Forcing it means that you are stagnating and the uke is evolving.

This is one rocketship.

This post IMHO was well worth the bandwidth to quote.

I would have to check my facts but from memory Brin Morgan hosted a Taikai some years ago the theme being Yari? I have VHS version of it and I am sure I saw quite a few Sankaku wooden Yari being used there.I am not sure if he had them made or sells them or they were just some of his personal weapons use on the day but he may be able to give you some info of use to you if you contact him.

Good podcast Kouryuu (with a few well placed hammer blows and some help from a hot fire I was able to DL it and it even worked) Now all I need to do is find out what exactly a podcast is :D .Any mention about my brain being the start of the evolution of Koku will be serverly beaten with a wet bus ticket.

I think on point number 3 you are doing the apples and oranges thing big time. They are not teaching Bujinkan , now are they ?

On you last point of people making to big a deal out of all this I think you are certainly right. You have made far to much of a big deal of it Kouryuu.

Play the tune pay the piper!

This was a reply to a question I emailed George Ohashi about the site.

"The ONLY problem for Soke is Darren's using the word "Hombu" for his personal website because it is misleading. Soke didn't say no about the contents.

Hi Josh thanks for the info.I was more interested in other arts Kacem had trained in not having been aware he had trained with Soke for that long. Both times I met Kacem he was in suit and tie so to speak and I just thought he was a talented Budoka from another art related to ours who had struck up a friendship with Soke and started training with us more recently. I live in Australia.

I had the chance to meet Kacem while in Japan but never got to see him in action. It would be nice to one day get him down here to play as I keep hearing his seminars are great and he has a unique perspective on Budo.
Does anyone know if Kacem has a web site or his official bio about his expertise and training that I can find on the net ?

food for thought!
I don't wish to enter this debate one way or the other but I think it worth reminding people of the value of the postings of certain people who are not members of the Bujinkan (because they train in other arts) but who add greatly to the over all view of Budo in general, put forth on this and other boards.
Chris Moon comes to mind.
