There is a guy in Leeds that charges people over £100 for a shodan cert, but the one the get is not the one from Japan its his own made up one, he charges another £50 for the official one...mind you he doesnt promote the yellow card to his students either and the membership they pay is towards his club...

Am already on MAP as Kouryuu and cummings is being discussed there, as i said i suggest you read that thread

I'm entertaining Antony Cummins on FB at the moment, one of the things he prides himself on is that Nakashima is not friendly with Takamatsu so they discredit him, in fact it seems that Nakashima has also made claims that are more outrageous and on this review http://blip.tv/file/3751803 its interesting what the guy says around 9.50 minutes.

As he goes through comings book you realise there is no new material in there, its just re-hashed stuff, its about as entertaining as Kawakami or whatever his name is...

and in doing so call into question your actions, thinking and understanding within the Bujinkan.

I believe it is the later.

I think it is as this is spreading like wildfire over the net, i'd hate to have a reputation of handing grades out left, right & centre....

This IS one of the problems in the Bujinkan, this willingness to bash another or their ranking

The other problem would be people handing out a few grades after only seeing them for a few times, when you say you spent five days in Inverness (twice) with him plus a few days at your place, how many of those were actual training? hours would be nice....

Also how do you feel about him doing a runner with £150k worth of peoples hard earned money from his gym?

Thanks for that Ed, yes i have seen him but not been a tori or uke to him, i didnt feel he 'got it' to be honest.

The thing about recommendations is that anyone does them now, my teacher was approached by Nagato for my last rank, he told Nagato to give it to me himself, he did so and i'm wholly proud of that scenario, there seems to be an overuse of the system at the moment allowing low quality to flood the market..

Ed,

I've heard recently that Jock got his 5th & 6t while in Japan and then you gave him 7th & 8th after that time, can you explain your critria into grading so quickly to someone who's got the taijustsu of a 1st kyu?

I understand from reading from MAP, you yourself Ed may have graded him 6th, 7th & 8th within a 9th month period, is this so? if so why???

Ed, i've just highlight this as some people would like to know what criteria you used to grade him so highly so quickly?
