Thank you for that, Rob. Sincerely. Your point is clear to me now. No further angst implied. I am glad that I am wrong.

Really? Conspiracies? I just want to know what rank I need to get to before I can censor gaijin that are not my students. When does my word become the law and when do I get lay down the law?

I am a little wet behind the ears, but I will make a wild attempt at matching your assumption about me with my own about you. You are high ranked, and deservedly so, you have expectations of respect for the rank you bear, and you have worked yourself into a uniquely elite position where you are on the inside track at getting information about the on-goings in Japan.

You are so satisfied with who you are and how you think, that you may lack empathy for others outside your ivory tower, and you are allowing your Inner Defender to be upset by things that should not even stimulate your concern, nor a response(perhaps until now). The same Inner Defender is making you appear as a zealot (to your own self-appointed cause) that is endowed to punish, humiliate, or otherwise slam the unworthy. I doubt that you were appointed to do what you have done by anybody and hopefully this gives you enough of a shock to put that back into perspective.

Granted, it is bigger than your assumption about me, but what the heck, right, I mean you probably outrank me. Heck, at this point the only directions that I can go are up, or out. Down is more painful and humiliating, and that is not really an option for me.

But, fine, I will continue to visit the forum and speak only when spoken to from this point forward. I will continue appreciating those who refrain from witch-hunter behavior and genuinely try to help people understand the bigger picture. There are many of you ladies and gentleman, and you are awesome.

Why should there be consequences for thinking or asking questions? What are any of us entitled to do to another person for daring to question the way of things? This forum is far too poisonous for me to be a part of anymore.

I just applied for an undergrad program w/ a Major in Global Studies--which will also lead to a TESOL, which will afford me the initial qualifications to teach English in Japan. If I play my cards right, this will make a lot of my dreams come true. I will look into getting a copy of this book. Thank you for posting this.

Hello all, I have a friend attending college in Juneau who is interested in Budo Taijutsu, if anybody knows of a shibu or dojo up in that area, please let me know what it may take for him to arrange a meeting with an instructor.

Thanks for your time.

Palin's comments about Africa were a hoax, the anonymous McCain advisor is a hoax as well...hence perhaps why so anonymous and therefore a liar...well a fictitious liar.

Darren,

That was refreshing and decently put together. Incidentally, I wrote in my candidate, Ron Paul, for both the primary and the popular election. I hope he runs again in 4 years, and yes that should be plenty of time for the nation and the world to see whom they've put their trust in. I had no desire to see either primary candidates elected, as they both seem to swing either a bit too neutrally or to the left for my satisfaction. That being said, it may be that I "lost" prior to the primaries, but like many others, I don't feel I wasted my vote.

So are you arguing that anonymous = liar?

Personally, I tend to give information a tad more respect if a person puts their name/reputation behind their opinion or account of an experience. Anonymous whistle-blowers may have something to lose by attaching a name or reputation to propaganda--if it is indeed character assassination.

It is unfair and uncalled for that Gov. Palin is absolutely being portrayed as an ignorant red-neck bible-thumper.
She may not even be the smartest tuna in the casserole, but we've elected people for V.P.s who claimed that they invented the internet, and one even misspelled potato, before I was born we had a president that is still remembered for falling down flights of stairs and out of airplanes, wev'e had many alleged adulterors.
Politicians have either skeletons in their closets or wear their "character flaws" on their sleeves, offering the opportunity to be picked on for what everybody else can see.

The fact is, if either she or McCain are as guilty as President Bush is for allegedly destroying world economy and foreign policy, then so is anybody else on either side of the administration including Sen.s Obama and Biden, even the independents who don't open their mouths. Lets give credit where its due, we as Americans are ultimately responsible and accountable for the events of the last 232 years or so that pertain to the lives and well-being of our countrymen and our vested interests abroad. Its too bad that some in the halls of power and influence are more inspired by difficult times to indulge in mudslinging than going out and making the change they feel so entitled to receive. I take responsibilty and I hold myself accountable for both my deeds and those carried out in my name by my government and our military. In this I am proud, and regret nothing that has been done in my name. I have a great life and am very privileged to be who I am, born where I was born.

Maybe a world of responsible and accountable individuals is an impossibility. I am glad people on forums like these attach a signature to their posted thoughts and concerns. It makes me respect the opinions of everybody here that much more...even though respecting an opinion will not always mean an agreement.
