k tis soapbox time...so up i step...final note...

we,(gc motorcycles+crew found here at
gcmotorcycles.com.au) tried various repairs but
her state was sorry indeed.more so than mine...

we got and kept her running tho she was never the same.
too costly at the time for a proper refit she was
eventually consigned to the spare part crowd for some
1/10+ of her value.

she never came home.

THEN... with children, repair and healing bills, not
able to work till recovered etc...no cash for trng...

NOW...children grown up more and making their own path
in this world...more spare cash...healing up...trng.on
the agenda and horizon so to speak...JAPAN APR.2017...
CU THERE...

ok soapboxing is done...so i step down...
thanks for sharing your time.

ps-will bring a kunoichi kawasaki zx7 photo...
SHE SHONE... you'll see...

k tis soapbox time...so up i step...pt1...

Just for the record;a very good helmet and bike leathers
CAN SAVE YOUR SKIN...literally.
when i let kunoichi kawa.zx7 go-at 60+kph i"bumped"
something? mirrors or handlbars etc and broke 2ribs
instantly and fractured all the others on that r side.

I then rolled several times trying to keep flow
and balance at hi-speed--worked sort of...my jacket
and trousers were VERY TRASHED-but my skin overall
WERE SAVED (and me too...).the leather held togetha
and i got lil more than massive bruising and bumps
on areas i had rolled on/into the road surface.

(i stil have the jacket as a memento as well as a
photo and handdrawn pic by my son nicholas whose
other later drawings btw can be found here:
https://www.instagram.com/arcanick 17/

-shoulder,hips,back areas, knees were all affected with
bone and tissue damage of varying degrees.
-my helmet kept my head together and on my shoulders cos
i didnt hit anything else along the way.i did pass out
for a few minutes-wos very dizzy,confused,rattled:
both mentally and physically.sore and worn wos i...

kunoichi kawa.zx7 wos too far gone-into the white(merc)...

an avid reader over the years though i concentrate
on non-fict. the following 2 fiction book series
are some of the few in my library:

author:ERIC VAN LUSTBADER:prolific writer,has many
martial art/action books incl several on THE
NINJA theme with both esoteric/exoteric devices
utilised by main characters.the storylines are
involved and probably suit an intense reader.a good
long read.

eg THE NINJA/THE MIKO/WHITE NINJA/SECOND SKIN as
well as action types eg ANGEL EYES/BLACK BLADE/
SHAN/SIRENS/ZERO etc

the other non-fict series i recommend
("cheap tabloid trash") style books.
easy and fun to read with a very interesting
take on the so called sun source of all
m.arts-the two main characters are sensei
and student studying SINANJU-deemed to be
the first m.art etc-
written with humor and tongue in cheek approach.
ideal for small read bites eg on the train when
heading to trng.

authors:richard sapir/warren murphy/james mullaney
book series: THE DESTROYER (over 100 in the series
-i have the first 57 for exampl and several other)...
i also recall the movie REMO:UNARMED AND DANGEROUS
was based on this series...

njoy till next...

I just finished reading an amazing book called The Last Umbra by M.R Chavez. He has a unique take on the Japanese culture by bringing a samurai warrior to early California. The book is full of action that kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Its a Historical Adventure, Action-thriller. It is focused on the admiration for the Japanese warrior class. This book tells of not a pride filled Samurai, but instead, a ninja assassin on a quest in gold-rush era California.

If anyone want to check it out you can find it here.

Please recommend more books if you have some. I'm really into something that has a lot of action!

Into the white she dove, old style box Merc it was:
stalled in kunoichi's lane, whilst trying to cross.
kunoichi knew no fear-only my survival did care-
helmet and leathers, black on red was i that night.

kunoichi of white wheels, red on black, she shone.
into the white of that night she dove screaming along-
for kunoichi kawasaki the zx7...there was no coming home.

...so ends my ode to the fem ninja that did save my life;
so ends my ode to the kunoichi kawasaki.
a zx7 ninja model with power and subtle grace...

...Into the white she dove screaming, all too quick a sacrifice-
whilst rider, shiro;me;was kept alive, in this human race.

Time stood almost frozen when we let go,
the path ahead, had vanished from our sight-
kunoichi screamed at me as my hands came free,
i went left;she went willingly into the white.

a very long history,kunoichi and i;
much seen and been through too-
shiroban and kunoichi,an unlikely pair or so it seemed
yet always together,we often rode into the night
she always led the way, lights shining bright.

kunoichi of white wheels, red on black, she shone.
we grew together-me,with far less grace.
never tiring, never rude, she easily carried my burden,
with the mark of the ninja-zx7,all over her face.

...hi again and hope the moderators forgive a very long
intro.

israelis, spanish, english and more traind with us all.
we were all young and free indeed.
all the bujinkan sensei of the time gave much of themselves.
looking back now they were indeed warriormen with honor.

my memories are many, some of which i have turned into poetry.
i hope to share more of your space and time in that regard.
now that i am able to restart training i also plan(in apr.
2017 i hope) to have saved enuf to resume my japanese trng.
with soke and shihans. with that in mind if ANYONE out
there has thoughts, opinions, advice etc that they believe i
may need( Idreamofninja@hotmail.com may be of use)

i probably have an opinion on anything and everything-ed
often said i took too many notes btw-so yep i have many journals and photos etc and am glad to chat with fellow ninja dreamers.

thankyou for the opportunity to intr.myself
i hope to hear from you all at some stage
shiroban ...till the next

hi again.
other aust.there at this time(1990/92) include such as andrew
macdonald, craig turbitt(btw craig if you read this yes i have
the $100 i owe you and just need your adress pls??),the
beautiful (and now deadly) hilary dwyer(??sorry hil if i mispelt surname-my handwriting lil messy and btw you still owe me a vineyard tour...)

brothers andrew and stewart jarvis (andrews motorbike was exc. as was a.mcd's,whilst stewarts sense of humor intense/unique)and such famous adopted aust.sons as the nzborn anthony netzler too.
many of these mentd were used as crash test dummies by anthony when he was made representative of the foreign ninpo contingent and MADE to act out a medieval ninja skit for the viewing audience of jap tv (and yes i still have the photos).

there were several more that i met such as tim bathurst whose smile lit the room.he had such enthusiasm for ninpo.his love he wore on his sleeve so to speak.
darren hastings,c.r.jones,steven revnak (whose early aust.seminars were a godsend to the group along with a.mcd's contribution too etc),simon robertson, many non aust. were training too.the very tall us navy?robert baumgarten, the irrepresible yank yost fulton who it seemed to me would be one who went native so to speak-his love too shone clear...

this is not a poem per se
a BIG HI to all btw...
an intro i must convey,
so heres about that; what i want to say...

sorry for the off the cuff rhyming intro.
my name is robert roma.
my nickname is shirobanryu.
i am/was one of ed lomax's first trng group members.
due to personal events i have not trained "officially"
for several years.a comp.newbie now armed with a shiny dell
hybrid laptop.i travelled with ed on our first trip to japan.

this was in 1990/91/92.i trained mainly with hatsumi soke &nd nagato shihan with the occasnl visit to ishizuka, someya,
manaka kobayashi &etc.for much of that trip ed and i shared lodgings at koma house.when hatsumi soke took the decision to to hold aust.1st taikai both ed and i retnd to aust.by 1992to to help organise/provide security for the event.

as a security detail member i hold a close view and memory of those times.the event was auspicious and eds arrangements went very well considering the uniqueness of this event at the time and eds then lack of expertise etc.he handled himself admirably even under the political pressure and obligations of the then current govt.and the fledling aust.ninpo scene/personalities etc... till the next cu

hi to all on this site.
my name is robert roma.
my nickname is shirobanryu.
...a long time ago a rather tall young man began training with ninja.he began to share his knowledge with a wannabe ninja dreamer(and several others).this was in adelaide in 1984.some years later(in 1990)after working two jobs etc both the tall young man and ninja dreamer REALised their dream and travelled for the first time to train with ninja. several years later they parted company.the dreamer(who had/has an independent approach)was involved in such as a traffic accident and still bears the results of that to this day, set aside his training and started a family.two beautiful innocent children later and with the healing process well under way...the dream of the dreamer will no longer be ignored.

The young tall man is Ed Lomax.
I am the dreamer-robert roma.

I am now ready to train...so train i will.

Having been "absent" (in body at least) for several years i am unfit, unused to training rigors and so on. My focus over the next year or so,whilst saving for another jap.trip will be on kihon happo reacquaintance and basic weaponry.

If ANYONE out there has a training approach or suggestions for such a "recovery" PLS. PLS. contact me. also if anyone knows of a bujinkan suitable trng.group(in adelaide sth.aust.) that could accommodate a slightly worn and used ninja dreamer to get back his PLAYFUL FEEL...

thanks in advance-ninpo ikkan
