That's so interesting Danny. The cat and mouse thing. A cat catches his mouse only to bring it into his layer and the let it go and catch it again and again until it's dead. That idead of having an opponent so well that you can play that kind of game with him should be right terrifying to them. Soke always says "Play! Play!" Which you would understand to mean just "okay, ...have fun..." But the cat and mouse - "serious play" angle is much more sinister.

What do you think he meant about weird teachers? Is there a context to this?

Thanks for being our embedded journalist in the dojo. It's one of my must-visit threads on my Kutaki rounds.

I'd imagine that he was saying it generally, if you find something weird than theres prob more to it.

It could mean get to know your instructor. What type of person is he? Does he smoke crazy stuff?? Does he bad mouth the Bujinkan but continue training in it??....just thoughts.
