Hello,

I have not had the opportunity to train with Mr. Kastiel since 1992, the last time he was the guest teacher for a seminar here in Finland. He also organized the 1992 Taikai in Luxenbourg.

Trained with Hatsumi-sôke more than five years... In Japan? Or..? I know he passed his Godan test in Stockholm 1988 (and taught in seminars here in Finland yearly after that up to 1992).

On a more general note concerning "belonging to the Bujinkan"... All teachers should have a valid Shidôshi-kai membership, like all trainees should have a valid Honbu membership. Also, all grades should be "Honbu issued". If these are in order...

He came to the last DKMS and we had no problem with him. As for his membership, please ask him directly.

Hello truth?,

here`s the Link to the engl. version of his internet presentation
(Unluckily some pages are not available at the moment):

http://www.ninjutsu-bujinkan.com/index_e.asp

He offers an internet study course which is (and should be as I think)
only meant to take in addition to one`s regular training
but not to be taken instead of it although possible
(graduations aren`t given just via Mail or so).

As in Germany the question was asked very often, too:
At least at the beginning of 2005 one could see there an article
by him on the Website, there he presented his actual membership card
to stop all discussions and arguments about him being in the Bujinkan or not.

This is all I can say and am willing to say about it right now.

As far as I know Moshe doesn`t like to be talked about at his back by others

but will eventually answer questions openly that are directed straight towards him.
Maybe it`s the best to just push the contact-button at his website.

I`m no student of his but in the early to middle nineties
I trained regular with him,for several years he even lived here in Berlin.
The question you asked (at least in my opinion and my experiences in Germany)
can cause trouble between members of the Bujinkan-no matter what the answer is.
I do understand that you just want to get to know but there are a few questions
which are absolutely not meant to be discussed in the public for certain reasons.

Greetings from Berlin,Germany,Europe

Wilf

Moshe either came back to the Booj, or he forged a recent shidōshikai card and posted it.
I don't really believe the latter version, so I guess he's back all right.

Oh boy... took me a long time to post this... sorry... crossposted then...

Maybe I`m totally misinterpreting his sentence (just let me know then, please),
but as I see it, Ohashi Shihan gave a somehow similar advice:
It`s always better to ask a person directly than third persons instead
-at least and especially if it`s a question concerning people themselves.

As you furthermore didn`t adress to a certain person directly
(if knowing that this one will be trustworthy in general),
everyone was "invited" to post whatever in his/her opinion is right.
Every answer concerning a question about "how good or bad" someone is
(as for example claiming to be in the Bujinkan while being not would be bad)
can have a negative or positive effect on that someone´s reputation

- no matter how substantiated such an answer is.

Unluckily in this case that`s exactly what happened at the german forums.
Most people got to "know" something (good & bad) about Moshe Kastiel
by just listening to somebody who knew someone else who again had heard
something by another person that had been told that Moshe... .

Me myself, I would never say that I know that much about Moshe
although I met him very often in the early to middle nineties.
A close friend of mine who comes at least 5-6 times a year to Berlin is still
in Moshe`s Dojo (therefore i do still get some trustworthy informations).
Even though I would never claim that my information is necessarily true
-as again even in my case it`s just hearsay (and a look at newer videos).

That`s why I think that some things are not meant to be carelessly thrown
into the public forums or other public places.

Greetings from Berlin,

Wilf

Sorry, Wilf, I can't see here any problem. The answer shouldn't be the kind of "good/bad", but of "yes/no". It's an answer deels with facts, not opinions...

Any-way, Nili posed the question on behalf of group of peoples who'd liked to train for the first time under shihan Kastiel. Now, we're after few trinings with him and the answer is no more so important: The man is amazing!!

God bless us all!
