Seeking emptiness I stumble along,
Looking outward to seek the inner,
Though Dark is the night,
My soul is my light,
as I strive to become the Zero.

Less is more, and more is less,
Lessons that I have learned,
To kill my ego,
and persevere,
There are no burdens when I become the Zero.

Then one day,
This flesh will pass away,
My footsteps nothing more than a Shadow,
With my journey done in the Cold Winter Sun,
My home will be in the Zero,

Excellent poem! Do you mind if I use a portion of it for my signature now?

A very nice poem, I was wondering if you are striving to become zero, as that would imply internalizing the concept of zero, then how can you eventually live there, is it a external place or is it an internalised emotion/feeling, or maybe it's more etheral than tangible,

Just wondering,
Pondering zero
As I often do,
And as I see by your post
It's unobtainable to one and all
As you are domiciled there in the fall.....regards Mark NY

Thank you for the nice comments, I have based my feeling/concepts of Zero on my personal experiences. I have lost everything I have owned 3 times. I have no real attachment to "physical" things. I deal with death everyday in my chosen profession, life is transient and fragile. To me Zero is like perfection, or drawing a circle free-hand. I can work hard to "achieve" that higher level, but will I succeed? Or do our imperfections(not unlike those of diamonds, ice crystals, molecular matrices)help define our being, and in embracing inherent flaws we strip away the socially forced ideal/roles and truly observe our true nature in an third-person/observer way free from the self, our own critic/defender. Strip away the ego, the socially forced notion role, and beneath it is the Zero.
Thanks again,
Wil

Sorry it took so long to get back, Please use whatever you want, it is simply a message/idea in a bottle cast into the ocean for anyone to use as they see fit.

Very nice. A beautiful illustration of what is striven for.

The way I see it, acceptance of difference and flaw is one and the same as loss of ego. Accepting the differences within you and without you denies the ego voice to express itself, and it disappears. Then, one can view events with impartiality and judge without prejudice, opening up the pathways for consideration.

Perhaps this is what shinsin shingan, 'the mind and eyes of the god', is.
