Sorry to sound put-offish but you should direct this question to your Instructor, as someone else's view of what should be covered may vary from what the seminar holder's view of what should be covered.

also 'normally' on the seminar flyers it indicates what training equipment is needed. or ask you training group/Instructor.

Normally though when i'm attending a seminar i take the majority of training tools, but thats just me i turn up with two to three bags!

check with your dojo.

Thats the problem though with opinions, they are other people's through their eyes.

You will see through your training career, the same technique done different ways by different people, not wrong as such just different perspectives on the same basics.

just get used to it now, saves confusion( well at least some) in the future!

The subject of the seminar suggests that the teaching will focus on the middle level of Gyokko-ryû Kosshijutsu. The forms that you might encounter (AFAIK)...

Kasasagi
Seitō
Dashin
Kōrai

Shien
Hōsen
Hōraku

When I was in Japan during summer 2001, Hatsumi-sôke and the various Shihans went through most of the above mentioned forms. As for weapons - Kodachi (or Tantô) is needed (for the Uke to attack with).

Again - AFAIK!!!

Hello Yamazu,

why do you think Kasasagi will be covered? I thought it is from Takagi Yoshin Ryu.

Hi Guys,

This is a puzzle that I've been considering a few days now.
As for the name "Kasa sagi", in Gyokko Ryu and Takagi Yoshin Ryu, you are both correct (I think).

I find the technique titled 烏 昔鳥 (カサ サギ)Kasa sagi in my copy of TCJ (Japanese version... you know the mimeographed , stapled booklets originally penned by Mrs. Hatsumi [I was told by Ishizuka Sensei]). Then in the Gyokko Ryu material Soke was passing out at Hombu a few years ago the same technique is titled カササギ "Kasa sagi" ウ ジャク"U ja ku" 烏 昔鳥 . Finally, in the Takagi material from Soke and Quest TYR video
a technique titled 昔烏 Kasasagi

Strange,eh?

Take care,

Ryan Reed

You think that's the only ryuuha that has a form called Kasasagi? (I would guess many outside of Bujinkan probably have Kasasagi too.)

That's two kanji, not three...

And that's one kanji, not two.
