Hi all,

I have a DVD for sale that I thought some of the visitors to Kutaki no Mura might be interested in. In April, we had French Shihan Arnaud Cousergue over to Dublin to teach a two day course focusing on his interpretation of Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu. It contains

The Ten no Kata (Eight kata)
The Chi no Kata (Eight kata)
The Shizen Shigoku no Kata (Twelve kata)
The Kihon Happo no kata, performed with the feeling of Shinden Fudo Ryu

This DVD was professionally recorded using industry standard equipment and features original music and cut scenes. The projected release date for this DVD is April 30th. It can pre-ordered now by clicking on the following link: www.happobiken.com/shopDVDs.htm

The price of this DVD is 45 euro including post and packaging. It can be ordered by going to www.happobiken.com and paid for using Paypal. Unlike many seminar DVD's, this one was professionally filmed and edited using industry standard recording equipment. It is recorded in DVD-R PAL format, which means it will work in most DVD players in Europe but not in the US or Japan. It will, however, work in the vast majority of DVD-equipped computers in all parts of the world. Please check your equipment before ordering in case this presents a problem.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi,
possible customers may be interested in the duration of the DVD. In a way it puts the price into perspective and makes decision easier. Not to mention I´d like to know it myself.

Eh, good question. I actually don't know how long the DVD will be as it is still being edited and I should have the master copy this weekend, but I would think it's safe to say it will be as long as the technical limitations will allow us to make it. We recorded around 6 hours of digital tapes, and Arnaud is very concise, so a lot of this material will make it onto the DVD.

We covered a huge amount of material over the two days of the seminar this was filmed at - far more than anyone could actually remember, so this should be useful from that perspective.

Just a quick update on this DVD - it's still being edited, so I apologise to anyone who is waiting patiently for it - I hope to have it in the post to people who have preordered it by the end of this week. (I know how much I look forward to new budo treats arriving in the post, so I can sympathise with anyone who's put out!)

In the meantime, there is now a trailer for this DVD online. It's an 11mb download .mov file, and it's available here:
Arnaud Coursergue Dublin 2006 DVD trailer.

(The uke in this clip is Cavin Pietzsch, who came all the way from Germany to attend the course and show off his excellent ukemi!)

Thanks for your patience everyone.

Yes, I'll send it anywhere you want, but it's up to you to make sure you can play a PAL format DVD-R in Iran . . .

Eh, this is more of a problem. At the moment I am only set up to accept Paypal I'm afraid.

Hmm, I'm guessing that must be something to do with the way your machine is set up, as no one else has reported this problem. Normally, you just click the 'add to cart' button which brings you to a paypal page (over which I have no control). You then just hit the button marked 'secure checkout'.

Anyway, if you are having a problem, you can just e-mail me the cost of the DVD directly by logging into your paypal account at www.paypal.com and then choosing the 'send money' tab on your account page. (My e-mail address is listed in my kutaki profile).

That method allows you to bypass the webstore altogether.

In other news, we finished editing this DVD this morning, and it's now rendering down. (This takes around eight to ten hours) The running time is around an hour and twenty minutes and it looks great. I should have it in the post over the weekend.

Hi all,

One final reply to this thread to say thanks to everone who has already bought a copy of this. All orders have been shipped out now so everyone who ordered one should have it.

In other news, a few people from the US have enquired about this disc and there is now an NTSC version available from www.budomartusa.com so if you are in the US and would like a disk that will play in a conventional player, that's the place to go.
