What in your profile should lend further understanding of the above? Your interest in your daughter? Your unemployed status? I don't understand.

Frankly, if you are unemployed and, presumably, short of cash, your focus (in my opinion) should be in finding gainful employment over searching for instruction in budo. If you cannot understand this line of reasoning you are probably not ready to benefit from a study of budo.

No offense intended. Simple facts.

It would help if you listed your location to see if you are near an established Do'jo'.

Maybe here lingers the romantic thought of working for the teacher in payment for the lessons? Kinda like an Uchideshi-idea....

Though, how legal this would be is another matter entirely.

Well, I bit the bait and read his extended profile. I went back and reread his post (including the title) and frankly I am more confused.

Graham, what is it that you are looking to have understood?

If you are looking for a dojo, you may get more answers in the section "Looking for a dojo". Place an actual request for what it is that you are seeking, what your situation and location is and there is a small possibility you may recieve actual help. I would say that your chances of getting what you are looking for with this post, as it stands, is...well...not very good.

Verdandi

One of the Norns from Norse mythology. She handles predicaments in the present.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdandi
In Norse mythology, Verdandi (ON: Verðandi), also known as "Verthandi", is one of the three norns, along with Urd and Skuld. Her name literally is the present tense of be or "to be" and is commonly translated as "in the making" or "that which is happening/becoming". She is the present moment. As one of the Norns she is a guardian of the World tree, watering it from the sacred well and keeping the deer of the four directions from chewing the branches, as well as a component of man's destiny.

Fish, I see your interests aren't in My Daughter, Verdandi but in My Daughter "Verdandi".

I am making an assumption that your use of quotations is intended to set off words specifically referred to as terms (eg. I know randori isn't "real" fighting, but does anyone really care that much?).

Fish:
Where are you? There might be a dojo near you.

No one here can help you find a dojo if you don't tell us where you are.

I'm in Bellflower,Ca. I have no money, i'm loosing the drive to move forward in my life,my family throughout my life has only put me down and belittled my abillity. And my ex-wifes mother(who is a lesbian)was able to convince her to leave me and to take my daughter Verdandi away aswell. My daughter is the only reanon i live, and she being the the greatest motivation for me to improve my life, these are just some of the detailes involving my situation. I know i must sound redicules and hopeless, but i dont care at this point, i am at wits end and i apoligize for the confusion.
