I was hoping to get pointed in a few directions as far as training in the Dallas area.. I have applied to the Jigoku Dojo.. Of course this being my first choice and I hope I am able to train there.. there is always a possiblity they are not taking on more students, so I hoped to gather other routes that I may have to take.

Thanks for any help/information that can be provided.

I'm sure Luke Molitor will accept you if you are a person who truly wants to train and has a good heart. He is the person in Dallas you want to train with.

Thank you for your reply Papa san, this is definately something that is important to me. I am 29 and I feel bad at times that I have waited so long to begin my training.. but at the same time I know that in years past I couldn't have given 100% and I don't like to half ass anything.. especially when it involves the commitment of someone elses time and reasources.

I've attended training with Luke on seminars out here and I can honestly say he is on my list of top teachers. His style is very organized, his presentation clear and easy to understand and his technical knowledge vast. He is very picky about who he chooses to take on as students and he certainly has the credentials to be that way.

I highly encourage you to seek out his instruction and, if it takes a while to get involved in the training, the time and effort spent will pale in comparison to the quality of instruction you will receive.

Best wishes on your journey!

Another person to train with in Dallas is James Garcia.

He is hard to find -- but worth the time. I would stop at his dojo before I stopped at Luke's -- but that is just my .02.

Take care -

-Daniel

PS. Ralph is in Dallas as well. Despite alot of opinions of his politics -- he is another one who carries a can-opener with him as well. PM me if you want more information.

If you plan on training or continuing in the Bujinkan avoid Ralph Severe.

Rob, is this advice yours personally, or is this something official from Honbu?

Might be confusing if understood in the wrong way...

I mean, it is clear Mr. Severe has left the Bujinkan, and has his own interpretation of things he was formerly taugh, mixing it with many other martial methods (from what I've seen / heard / read). But! I have not heard anything official like "you go to him, you too are out of the Bujinkan"....

Just to get it correct, is all. As this kind of "expulsion order" should come from quite high on the Bujinkan hierarcy, yes?

For crying out loud! @#$%#!!!!
No it isn't an official post from the hombu... It is a strong suggestion as, you won't be ranked or nor a member of the Bujinkan while training with Ralph. How was this even a necessary thing to say in the first place?
Train with Ralph and your are not training in the Bujinkan... If you are currently in the Bujinkan and wish to continue training the the Bujinkan then don't train with Ralph, as he is not in the Bujinkan... Not saying you will be banished for doing so just saying you will not be continuing in the Bujinkan.
Come on guys this is a really simple thing to understand! You read far too deep into things.
Rob

Josh D. I have heard good things about Luke... So, I think you should be fine training with him. Good luck !

Thanks, TenChiJinGuy, I'm seldomly called nice about anything

My point was, that couldn't one train in Bujinkan AND with Mr. Severe? As one can train any MA (save the other two *kans) alongside Bujinkan Budô Taijutsu... AFAIK No kicking out there, right?
