it seems that 1998 - 2002 all schools except the "Ninjutsu" ryuha have been tackled... then another change with Juppo Sessho...

That's spooky...

Why is it spooky??

How about... Taijutsu and some TGR techniques? Kinda like all the other years?

OK, I thought there might be something special of having a "Ninjutsuryu"based theme.

If not, I'd like to apologize as I am not really that long in the Bujinkan.

To me the school being the theme appeared as if being something "different" concerning to the other Ryuha, especially when I have been told that the Ninjutsu-part in our schools is not regulary shown or being teached that often.

Do not get me wrong: I am not that "Ninja-Mumbo-Jumbo" type of guy.

I was only interested in the opinion of you all about that rumor of the Ryu being the next years' theme in conjunction with the (to me known) fact that the particular Ryu is focussing more into the Ninjutsupart than the other schools.

I am pretty sure, that there may be some redundancy in the training as the other years before concerning the Taijutsu.

But as every school has an intersection with the other Ryuha there may be special items, techniques and so on, which are not being showed/trained within (for example) the Kukishinden-Ryu.

To me for example it was pretty new to move and train as if I was wearing a Yoroi when I am performing in training to this year's annual theme. To be honest, it was not easy to act like that because I used to stand really deep in my kamaes.

As far as I know the Togakure-Ryu has not been an annual theme, yet and thus not being in focus in training and dicussions in conjunction with the Ryu being actually trained and worked on in the "daily base" in the respective dojo.

But then... I am a sole beginner in the path of Budo, and perhaps I am expecting and thinking too much about it.

Hi,

Have there been any further updates on this information? I have also heard Koto Ryu Koppojutsu being banded around.

Has Soke given a definitive theme for 2008 as of yet or is it still quite speculative?

Thanks

Ian

Isn't it usually at DKMS that the next theme is "revealed"?

What ever is the year's theme is, Soke is always the same, fluent, mind and balance breaking, deceptive and dangerous. If I do not know the specific Katas, I can say that he shows the same school all the time. All the schools are mixed into each other so fine at Soke so I do not mind what ever theme is coming, my aim is to mix them all to get the Bujinkan system spirit. Ofcourse I enjoy to train and study the denshos and try to think about them.

According to the shinkentaijutsu website, Ninpo Taijutsu will be the theme next year:

Hi all,

Awesome! Definitely looking forward to this particular school. Whilst Kukishinden Ryu was fun I am looking forward to the ninja based tactics and techniques rather than armour based techniques.

Cheers all
