Kanda University campus, Makuhari (Chiba City) is hosting the 26th annual Highland Games on October 5th.

The Highland Games are a chance to see some wild sports such as caber tossing. And lots of the participants are Japanese people who are Scotland-mad and people of Scottish heritage in Japan. The Scottish greeting, Ceud mille failte, means a thousand welcomes, so anybody can come and see

Note that October 3rd is also Bunka no Hi, Culture Day, a national holiday in Japan.

Wow, I went to this back in 1994. Hearing about this brings back some great memories.
