Hi All,
Hope this is in the right section.
One of the students at our Dojo is soon to be moving to a place called Karratha, in Western Australia and would really like to continue training but as of yet we have been unable to find anyone training out here (the nearest class I have been able to see is with the guys in Perth, which is 16-17 hours drive.
Anybody able to suggest a closer option?
Thanks in anticipation of help :)

Regards,
Alan McGregor

Hey Alan, have you checked with Gillian or Ed Lomax? Better yet what about the gents in Perth, see if they know anyone, as you know many groups are well "under the radar".

Hi Ed,
Great to hear from you!
I have sent an email through to both Ed and Gillian but haven't hear back yet - thought I would post here as well and cover all bases.
Thanks for the suggestions though - will let you know what we discover.

Cheers,
Alan

Alan,

I'm an old West Australian myself. Most people work "fly in fly out" up north over there.

I would contact Chris West or Gary Bailey in Perth. I doubt that there is anyone running something up there but they might no someone who flies up there for work.

There are a few guys I know there who train in Perth when they fly back. As for actually LIVING in Karratha - pretty rough.

If he can't find anyone he should just start a 'training group' of his own with what he knows how to do and then travel to where he can get more training every month or so working with his guys (or gals) in the interim. This is the way new areas get introduced to this incredible art.
All the best to you and your crew. Let me know if you want me to stop in Auckland on my way to Sydney next year. Probably that would be at the end of February if I stop there first.
Ed

Thanks Gillian,

I have sent emails to Chris West and Gary Bailey, but not sure the email addresses from their website are still active as they came back as undeliverable. I'll keep trying and see how we go. I'll also encourage him to start a group once he's there, but if anyone has a more current email address for either Chris or Gary...
Definitely would love to see you again on your way to Sydney next year Ed, I was speaking to a few of the attendees from last time you were over earlier this week, and we would be keen to get together. Let me know when, and how long you would be over and I'll get it under way.
