I wrote this poem once, in an effort to try to get the feeling of a haiku.
I didn't take any care of the syllables though, since my Japanese is way to inferior in order to be able to make it fit, so I only took a look at the other unwriten rules many haiku seem to follow:
- A nature's event
- Melancholical feeling
- A metapher to the troubles of mankind
- A last line, slightly another subject, that gives the poem the point, the meaning.
Here it is:

The cherry tree drops his blossoms...
sadness begins...
end of spring...
