Yup.
I pushed my bookshelf so that it wouldn't fall on me.

I sure felt it! Woke me up. I am just glad that it was a side to side one and not an up and down one. Not too many things fell.

It felt fairly up and down to me - maybe a difference in the local topography. A few things came down off my tables/shelves/walls, but I don't think anything broke.

I could hear some surprised exclamations coming from the guys staying downstairs though. We were just talking yesterday about earthquakes and I'd mentioned that we have tremors once in a while, but in the last 8 years only one or two have been strong enough to knock things off the shelves. I was thinking, come to think of it, we haven't had one in a while, we're probably overdue...

For some reason I had awakened at 4:30 am and was lying in bed trying to get back to sleep when it happened. It is my first experience with the earthquakes of Japan. Can't say I wasn't concerned a little. After the quake my girlfriend immediately turned on the tv to see the news.

I was awake anyway because my phone rang a few minutes earlier. When will the rellies in Canada figure out the time difference?

That was the loudest quake I've experienced. Everything rattled. First thought, terrible, I know, was 'Cool! I wonder how big this puppy is?' You don't wanna be in a car accident with me.
