Interesting Liz, it does look like we are wired to cooperate after all. ---- It is the way humans have been so successful in becoming the dominant species on this planet. Maybe we should remember that more often.

Are we the dominant specie? What about cockroaches, viruses etc... They outnumber us and will be here long after we are gone...

Just a thought,

It was an opinion piece and not a report on a scientific paper. But, their work sounds interesting even though it's a bit more like sociological research than scientific.

I'd like to see an actual paper if someone can hunt it down.

LOL Jan, humans are the ones who threaten the very existence of the planet, we came very close to totally wiping it out in 1962 with what was called the "Cuban Crisis". Neither cockroaches or viruses have done that.

The coachroaches and viruses are planning to... Sneaky liitle things they have been planning our destruction ever since the upright apes got uppity about walking on two legs. They thought what's next they'll grow wings and want to fly. They coachroaches you see are only recon units. The viruses are the real planners and researchers collecting DNA samples as they go.
