Does anybody know where I can get a listing of the Kukishinden Ryu Sword Kata's. I recently got a video by Paul Richardson and it's really good but its really hard to understand him because of the sound quality. He goes over like 9 of the kata's, but the only one I can make out is "Kasugai Dome".

Not to be cheeky, but your instructor might be a good place to start...

How many of you study in depth things like Batto, Iai, kaeshi waza, Kiri waza, Uke gata, Tameshi giri etc... If you do did you supplement that information or was it all given to you from Bujinkan sources?

Rick,

My particular training involves all of those aspects... although not all are particularly from the Kuki schools. I am not aware of any specifics of iai or batto from that school, so the bulk of my iai and batto come from the Togakure and Takagi schools.

None of his has been "supplemented," although over the years I have fooled with iai methods from other schools for fun and variety but things were complete without them.

I think Nikola is refering to the first post on this thread; someone wrote that they got a "Paul Richardson" video depicting 9 Kukishin ryu sword kata, but the sound quality was so poor they couldn`t make out what the names were. I believe that the names and such for the kata are on the Ken, Tachi, Katana DVD that Hatsumi Soke made, and that`s what Nikola was trying to communicate.

Ah... that does make sense.

I was thinking in terms of Rick's question and had completely forgotten about the original post. *chuckle*
